The Wellman examinations are head to toe preventative and diagnostic screenings that help you catch early signs of degenerative illness, understand symptoms and changes in your health and review your lifestyle and health requirements.  

Rather than offer a medical that screens for its own sake, we tailor our medicals to your requirements and clinical indicators.

Every medical includes:

•    Current medical complaints
•    Medication Review
•    Past medical history
•    Family history
•    Lifestyle assessment
•    General examination – height, weight, BMI calculation, fat content, girth, chest inspiration and expiration
•    Examination of the cardiovascular system including heart sounds, blood pressure
•    Examination of the respiratory system including pulmonary function testing
•    Examination of the musculoskeletal system – range of movement, restriction, tenderness, back health
•    Examination of the neurological system – reflexes, sensation,power
•    Examination of the skin – moles, freckles, lesions, risk factors
•    Testicular / prostate examination
•    Resting electrocardiogram for men over 45 or where clinically indicated
•    Urinalysis for 8 elements

The medical will also always include a full blood profile which is an excellent indicator of overall health. 

This is as follows:

•    Haematology (blood count, platelets, red blood cells etc;  white blood cells and ESR which are inflammatory markers)
•    Liver function screen
•    Kidney function screen
•    Serum iron
•    Calcium levels
•    Full lipid profile including HDL, LDL and total cholesterol, triglycerides
•    Glucose level
