Cryotherapy for warts and verrucae
Warts are benign lumps on the skin that mostly appear on the hands and feet.
A wart on the sole of the foot is called a verruca or plantar wart.
They are caused by the human papilloma virus which provokes the growth of a hard protein in the upper skin layer to grow too much.
This creates the hardness and roughness of the wart.
Cryotherapy is the process of freezing warts, veruccae and other lesions to remove them from the surface of the skin. It is a painless process with usually long-term results.
Repeated treatments are sometimes required when a wart is particularly resistant to treatment.
Other prescribed treatments are also available to counteract warts and can be discussed with the doctor at the time of your consultation.
Cryotherapy costs £90 per treatment depending on the nature and location of the wart or lesion. If you have multiple lesions that require treatment, please let us know at the time of booking as the fee may change.
